Child Psychiatry is the process of diagnosis and the treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling and/or behavior affecting children, adolescents, and their families. The Psychiatrist conducts a comprehensive diagnostic examination to evaluate the current problem with attention to its physical, genetic, developmental, emotional, cognitive, educational, family, peer, and social components. Once a diagnosis is made, the psychiatrist then designs a treatment plan which considers all the components and discusses these recommendations with the child or adolescent and family.
At Solace, our Child Psychiatrists work closely with the therapeutic team to achieve accurate diagnosis, to help rule out comorbidities and biological/ neurological factors, to help the child receive the right treatment that aids to maximize their daily functioning and overall improvement.
